Andy graduated college and thought he might want to be a pastor, but his love for performing eventually took over. He developed a rare nerve disorder that left him unable to walk and in intense daily pain. Early efforts to treat it didn’t help. A friend guided him to a hospital that could give him the care he needed. His pain was substantially reduced in a year.
The Lord works in mysterious ways, and He threw Andy another hiccup after that. He and his wife were in severe financial straights. She suggested they not sell their Los Angeles home so they could stay where the action was. God was on their side, and he continued to get bigger and better roles.
