Today, things are looking worse for Frank than ever. After a bout with alcoholism that saw him kicked off the series, it seemed like he was finally managing to turn his life around. However, all hope of him returning to the show came crashing down when it was revealed in the summer of 2022 that he had suffered a debilitating stroke. Though Mike gave well wishes to Frank over social media after the news of his stroke was made public, the two haven’t talked in several years. Mike and Frank stopped talking long before the stroke. Frank first stopped showing up on American Pickers around the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Many fans assumed that his unspoken absence was a result of poor health. In some ways, this was true. Mike hadn’t come down with COVID-19, but he was suffering from alcoholism more severely than ever before.
After being unceremoniously booted off of American Pickers, Frank tried his best to turn his life around. He went to rehab for his alcoholism and quit drinking before his debilitating stroke. He had also lost a good deal of weight, which at first seemed like a bad thing to the tabloids. The tabloids wondered if there was some ominous reason why the formerly chunky reality star was skinny all of a sudden. As it turns out, he was just eating a much healthier diet.
