Movie making is a massive undertaking. There’s so much more to it than a crew pointing a bunch of cameras at an actor and hoping they don’t forget their lines. And some of the biggest hurdles are the age-old problem of continuity, and of making sure you can’t actually tell you’re looking at a set in the modern day. In every shot you see, someone has worked their butt off to make sure there isn’t a cell phone lying around in plain sight in your wild west saloon, that the baby looks real and not just like a plastic doll, or that that plate of food doesn’t keep refilling itself every time someone takes a massive bite of their meal.
But with so much to keep track of, the occasional error is bound to slip by both the actors, the directors, the set designers and even the editors, resulting in some truly baffling and oftentimes hilarious movie goofs. And boy, do movie lovers love to find and point them out. So here at Screen Rant, we have decided to compile a fun little list of some of the most glaring and inexplicable mistakes to happen on a movie set. Sit back and have a laugh - and then try to keep track of all that stuff yourself next time you work on a movie set. We promise it's not as easy as you think.
