How to Pick Budget Accommodations That Are Still Swanky

When it comes to traveling, there are a lot of things to take care of before taking off on holiday. From budgeting to destinations and itineraries, planning can be a bit overwhelming. When it comes to finding the right accommodation, price isnt always a determining factor in the quality. In fact, it isnt unusual to find an amazing lodging that is clean, in an excellent location, and that is actually affordable.

So, how do you pick budget accommodation that is still swanky? Read on below!

Book online and check reviews

When youre on a budget, every dime spent makes a difference, especially if youre going to a place like Hawaii. To help you decide where to stay, look for a reliable guide online that has numerous options, reviews and prices. It will give you the ability to search based on price showing you a detailed description of the place including pictures. Youll also be able to see how others rated it based on specific criteria such as cleanliness, location, price and other factors. Getting to see the feedback of other customers will help you make a thorough decision and guarantee that youve chosen the best possible accommodation based on your budget.

Collect points

Many reward points on specific websites, apps, hotels, or even credit cards allow you to get discounts the more you use their services. That gives you the ability to book an amazing place to stay at a discounted price and sometimes even for free. Thats why its always a good idea to get familiar with the services available that offer rewards or points that can be exchanged into hotel nights to be able to use in the future allowing you to stay in a well-known hotel at a fraction of the price.

Book a package

One of the best ways to guarantee that youre getting a sweet deal when it comes to your accommodation is by booking a flight and hotel package together. In most cases, youll find that you could be saving up to 40% of hotel costs making it extremely affordable to stay in a posh and elegant lodging without having to pay an arm and a leg.

Use a travel agency

While sometimes travel agencies can seem more expensive as they calculate their fees into the price they give you, youd be surprised to see the agreements they make with certain hotels, making them able to get you a really good price at a well-known entity. Theres no harm in contacting a few different travel agencies, getting their price list for the destination youre traveling to and go with the one you deem most worthy. You might just be lucky with an exceptional deal that you just cant refuse.

Sign up for newsletters

Being a member makes all the difference. Not only do you get member pricing and special rates and discounts with popular booking websites once you sign up for their newsletter, but you could also be sent a notification when theres a flash sale or heavy discount going on in the area youre looking for. Because these websites tend to keep track of your searches, once prices go down, youll be notified and be able to get decent accommodation at a fraction of the cost. So, while the constant emails are sometimes annoying, its actually worth it when you get a 50% coupon or notification in your inbox.

Book in advance

Another trick that many travelers know is that prices tend to get higher the closer you get to the time of travel. So, if youre on a budget, its always best to book in advance to have a lot more options available and book them at their true cost. Hotels tend to increase their prices as they know the demand goes up the closer you get to the time of travel.

Avoid peak seasons

Instead of traveling during Christmas, New Years, or the summer when everyone is on holiday, its best to pick a date that isnt as crowded to avoid the hefty price tags that come with it. That way, youll be able to get the same accommodation for sometimes as low as half the price just because its off-season. Always consider that factor and choose your dates wisely and youll find that you end up saving a whole lot of money on accommodation.

One of the biggest bulk of money spent on traveling after flights are actually accommodation. However, it doesnt always have to come with an expensive price tag. With enough preparation and pulling out these tricks from underneath your sleeves, youll be able to guarantee that you get a pretty decent place to stay at a fraction of the cost.

What To Look For When Finding An Affordable Hotel

If you are looking to score a great deal on a hotel room for your next trip, there are several tips that you may want to employ to save money. Then, you can enjoy a great stay while having plenty of money left over to do some extra things or to start planning your next destination.

Consider Business-class Hotels

Particularly in Europe, business-class hotels can be a great deal if you are planning a summer vacation as business travelers tend to take their vacations then, and they travel less on business. Additionally, you can often find great deals at these hotels on weekends as business travelers are often home by then.

Research Your Prices

Once you decide on a possible hotel, then try to book it in several different ways. You can head to travel booking sites and try there. Pick up the phone and call the hotel chains 1-800 number. You will also want to call the hotel directly. Often, when comparison shopping, you can find a price that is lower than the rest if you do your homework. You should also take advantage of price drops alerts if you have a few days or weeks before you need the hotel.

Book Within the Cancellation Period

If a hotel offers a cancellation period, then you will typically get the lowest price. This period is usually 24 to 48 hours before your stay. If you are flexible, then you may even want to wait and walk into a hotel late in the day. At that point, they know their occupancy rate. If not many guests are staying the night, the hotel will drop their price to encourage other travelers to stay.

Bundle

The more things that you can bundle together, the more you are likely to save on each one. For example, you may be able to bundle your flight and your hotel. All-inclusive hotels are often good deals if you take advantage of all that they have to offer.

Loyalty Programs

If you travel a lot, staying with the same chain regardless of your location often will save you money. For example, you may find that when you stay six nights, you get the seventh night free. Some booking sites also offer loyalty rewards when you sign up through them ahead of booking your hotel.

Be Flexible With Your Destination

If you want to get away and do not care where, then check prices in multiple destinations. You can even find tools on the internet that will show you where prices are rising and where they are falling. Sometimes, you may also find that staying a few blocks away can save you money, even within the same hotel chain.

Look for a Quality Mattress

When shopping for hotels, be sure to look for options with quality mattresses. These mattresses are often found at new hotels that often give you an excellent price for staying with them because they are trusting that if their property meets or exceeds your expectations, you will tell your friends.

You can use all of these ideas to save money when booking your next hotel stay. Go ahead and start applying them now by choosing the dates for your next getaway.

How To Manage Back Pain While Traveling

If you have chronic back pain, that is bad enough. To be faced with the prospect of traveling while experiencing that same back pain is almost too unbearable a thought for many people to even think of. At the same time, travel is a necessary part of life for many people. That is why it is important to learn how to effectively manage back pain while traveling. With a bit of planning, the effects of the pain can be minimized even when you are thousands of miles away from home.

Stay as Active as Possible

Back pain tends to flare up the most when you are in a stagnant position. Unfortunately, that is exactly the position you are often stuck in for hours at a time while traveling. That does not mean you cannot move your body on occasion. You will want to implement the 30-minute rule. This means that you should change position every half hour, even if only for a short time. If you are sitting down, then stand up. On the plane, you can walk the aisle once or twice. You can also stand somewhere on the plane if the flight attendants will allow it. The key is to get active at regular intervals in order to give your back some flexibility.

Manage and Reduce Your Stress

Traveling can also lead to a lot of stress. This is obviously not good for your back, so you want to do everything in your power to remain calm and peaceful. Those planes are packed. It can be difficult to get your bags in the overhead bins when everyone is watching you, particularly when your back is hurting. Do not make matters worse by trying to do it yourself. Ask for help. You will be amazed at how helpful your fellow travelers or flight attendants can be.

Another tip to minimize stress is to plan ahead. This allows you flexibility in case something goes wrong on your trip. If nothing does, then you can use the extra time just to relax. The more relaxed you are, the less pain you are likely to feel in your back. You can also practice some deep breathing and relaxation exercises that you can use when you are sitting for a long period of time in one stretch.

Minimize the Activities That Lead to Back Pain

You know your back better than anyone else, so you are aware of what makes the pain worse. Do your best to avoid those activities while traveling. Now is not the time to try something new that might make the pain worse. Also, look for ways to reduce the pressure on your back when you are forced to do something that has the potential to cause back pain. An example would be sleeping on the plane. Use a neck pillow to help support your neck and keep your spine in the right position.

So, with a bit of planning, you can work to reduce the amount of back pain that you experience when you travel. The key is to not wait until the last minute. Develop a plan in your mind for how you will tackle each of these tips and be proactive in doing it. If you will do that, you will almost certainly be a much happier traveler in the end.

8 Ways to Create a Peaceful Bedroom to Come Home to From Travel

A peaceful bedroom encourages you to get a great nights sleep. When that happens, you awake more ready to face the challenges of the new day. Taking from these easy steps can help you make your bedroom a more peaceful environment for sleep.

  1. Declutter

If you are like most people, your bedroom ends up with a lot of clutter pilling up. Start by creating three areas in another nearby part of your home. One area is for the things that you want to keep, the other area is for the things you want to donate or return to their rightful owners, and the final area is for trash. Take each item out of your bedroom and put it in one of the three areas. Throw the trash away and donate or return the things that you put in that pile immediately. While you may not want to get rid of the television, computers and your phone, do not return them to your bedroom.

  1. Paint

Now paint the room a relaxing color of your choice. Sticking to natural colors like white and browns helps to create a calming environment. Red is often attributed to high energy and has shown to increase blood pressure and the heart rate. Yellow is a joyful color which depicts happiness and stimulates nerves. Blue, unlike the previous two, is attributed to lowering blood pressure and heart rate. Its known to be calming and great for rooms which receive more sunlight.

  1. Add Textures

Adding textures to your bedroom makes it seem more peaceful. You may want to start with an area rug by your bed. Then, add another fluffy rug of a different texture. You may also want to add textures by choosing different fabrics, such as using linen sheets, a silky comforter, and a bear or cowhide throw. You can also consider throwing in some decorative green pieces from nature to give your room some more life. No matter what youre choosing to throw in your room, experiment and give your taste buds the satisfaction of trial error.

  1. Hang Blackout Curtains

Blackout curtains come in many different colors. The best ones block out light and sound. That way, when you are in your bedroom, you are isolated from outside noises that can make you feel stressed. Not an early morning type, these curtains can provide the faade of darkness and keep you in your dreams while the morning is passing this is especially useful for those who want to stay in bed longer on those days off.

  1. Add Peaceful Artwork

You can find peaceful artwork in many different styles. Concentrate on buying large statement pieces to hang above your bed and on the wall opposite your bed. Many people find that abstract artwork done in soothing colors helps them to relax at night.

  1. Use the Right Technology

Some technology can help you create a peaceful bedroom. One of those is a white noise machine. Another is a sunlight machine (or sun lamp) that emulates the natural sunrise. You may also want to add a beautiful diffuser to your bedroom. Lavender, clary sage, and sweet marjoram are all instrumental. Finally, check that your mattress has the latest technology to help you sleep better.

  1. Make Your Bed

Start each day by making your bed. Some people find that using lots of throw pillows helps them to feel more peaceful when they enter their bedrooms, while others find that they get in the way. Regardless, choose comfortable pillows and use pillowcases that are in a soothing shade. Additionally, make sure to open your windows daily, even if it is just for 10 minutes, because it will keep your bedroom from feeling stuffy.

  1. Use Candles

Candles help to create a peaceful atmosphere in your bedroom. If you are afraid that you might fall asleep with them still lit, consider flameless options. Be at peace when you sleep and wake up in one peace!

Following these steps creates a peaceful bedroom where you can get a good nights sleep. Get started on this project today, and you will be amazed at what a difference it makes in your mental outlook.

CTFO, or Changing The Future Outcome is a US-based company that markets CBD oil products. Over the past couple of years, the use of CBD and its byproducts has been a trend that continues to persist because of the positive testimonials of those who are able to reap the benefits of the products. CTFO Compensation Plan

People who are interested to join CTFO may be surprised to find that being a distributor is free and there are several ways on how you can earn in the business. One is through retail commissions or the direct profit you generate once you make a sale. Another is through unilevel and matrix commissions wherein distributors get a certain percentage of revenue from the sales made by their downlines, or the people they introduce into the business. Finally, distributors can also earn bonuses, but they need to qualify in order to do so and this is by leveling up in the ranks of the company.

The Verdict?

CTFO is not a scam because the company is selling real products to which they generate their income. There are several CTFO reviews that can certainly back up this claim. It is notable how the business implements a Multi-Level Marketing business model, or MLM, which rewards their distributors with a certain percentage of the revenue generated by the group sales of their downlines, or the people they recruit into the business. This is because an MLM business model is an effective marketing strategy that allows a business to swiftly promote brand awareness.

To wrap things up, it can be deemed that CTFO is indeed a legit company with a different business model. MLM is not a scam, rather, it is one type of business model that is utilized by some of the businesses, such as CTFO, in order to rapidly broaden their market. Just bear in mind that CTFO is not a get-rich-quick scheme, instead, it entails hard work and perseverance to eventually become successful in this business.

Book a Ship with Warm Facility to Swim

Undoubtedly most of the cruise ships provide hot tubs to the cruisers. But still, you should try to book one with a solarium or other enclosed places with pools that only a few ships offer. These are a great way to relax and swim around. While swimming, the cool breeze of Alaska will give you an unforgettable sensation.

Binoculars- A Must-have

If you are going to enjoy the Alaska cruise vacation for the first time, you will find the scenery very varied from a Caribbean sail. So, to enjoy the sites and views from both ship and shore, it is better to carry a couple of binoculars with you. An excellent quality set of binoculars will not cost you much. You can even get them online, and the best part is they are neither very heavy nor will take much space in your baggage.

The best option is to Layer Dresses

The weather can be pretty much unpredictable when you are on your Alaska cruise vacation. So, the most reliable option while packing clothes for Alaska is LAYERS. During the day time, the temperature can get high to 40 degrees, rain, cloud, and sun, anything can happen. So, it is better to get yourself prepared for any weather condition, and layering the clothes can save you a lot in any situation.

Book a Balcony Room if Possible

May and September, the Cheapest Fair for Alaskan Cruise

The season the Alaskan cruise is on height is summer, but most of the ships start sailing in May. They do not come to an end until it is September. The trips of May-September are quite cheaper because of the lower demand. Families cannot sail these times due to the school of their children, and you can get the same room on the same trip by sailing during one of these months and save a lot.

Take Some Must-have Accessories

While packing for the Alaska cruise vacation, do not forget to pack some must-have accessories that you will surely need during your vacation. With a couple of binoculars, you should take a pair of hand gloves, a set of socks, a water bottle, rain gear, a camera, chargers, bug spray, night light, necessary medicines, and many more. Another essential thing is a sunscreen product to safeguard your skin from the suntan.

Use the Cabin Safe

Your cabin must support a safe system. It might be not that big, but spacious enough to keep your essential documents secured. Use the safe to keep your passport, keys, money, and more when you leave the cabin. There is a very slight chance of theft, but it is not wise to leave the essentials unlocked in the cabin.

Enjoy!

It might be your first time enjoying the Alaska cruise vacation, but surely you are going to save much for another one. When you know what you desire for and plan accordingly, you can spend some cherishing moments and make your Alaskan cruise tours enjoyable.

Importance of Ecotourism in 2020: Its More Important than Ever Before

The conversation centered around ecotourism is a complex one, and many reports suggest this complexity begins with the definition. That is, depending on the group–be it a political group, a research team, or academics–the definition differs slightly in favoring a set of characteristics over the other set. Well focus more on this later. Thankfully though there is a widely accepted definition and it comes from The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN):

Importance of Ecotourism in 2020: Its More Important than Ever Before

Environmentally responsible travel to natural areas, in order to enjoy and appreciate nature (and accompanying cultural features, both past and present) that promote conservation, have a low visitor impact and provide for beneficially active socio-economic involvement of local peoples.

Another widely cited definition focuses on a simpler definition, that is, ecotourism is the responsible travel to natural areas that conserves the environment and improves the well-being of local people. The unifying threads here are the principles of respectfulness and mindfulness while traveling in order to create a more symbiotic relationship between the tourist, the destination, and the people visited.

Evolving Tourist Philosophies

In honor of Earth Day 2019, Booking.com released a Sustainable Travel Report that indicated an increasing mindfulness in tourism worldwide where 87% of global travelers reported the desire to travel sustainably–a large jump from the 52% reported in 2016. About 4 in 10 of these individuals reported often or always managed to do so successfully, however, 48% reported that were never or rarely successful in their attempt to travel sustainably.

While these statistics may be somewhat confounded due to the conflicting definitions of sustainable travel which in turn gives rise to increased misinterpreting of what constitutes sustainable travel, the fact remains. These statistics indicate that the priorities of the traveler are changing globally. Many accounts describe the stereotypical American traveler of the 1950s as an individual who looked down foreign nations and their cultures due to his or her perceived moral superiority. While there is certainly room to improve, respectfulness in intercultural tourism is on the rise, especially in America as such old school sentiments disappear.

The Corporate Problem and Its Unfortunate Influence

Like any trending sentiment, corporations are quick to bottle, cap it, and stick their label on the front. Ecotourism is no different. Reports indicate that many vacation style resorts around the world are overly eager to capitalize on the popularity of ecotourism. Thus anyone who is professionally or personally interested in supporting ecotourism should take care not to be deceived by dishonest branding tactics–ecotourism and vacationing are not one in the same, as alluring as that idea may be.

Vacation companies understand that it takes a startling amount of research to find the right vacation trip. If you factor in the fact-finding required to unearth the facts on whether a company represents the already ambiguous principles of ecotourism, what was before a surprising amount of research becomes a daunting task that many people will just find too intimidating. Nevertheless reports suggest there is an increasing need for tourists to be able to differentiate between green and green wash.

5 Questions to Tell if Your Trip Is Eco-Friendly

1. What Are Their Green Commitments

There is no international governing body which dictates how hotels and resorts use words like eco lodge or all-natural. And unfortunately there is no quick way to determine whether the use of these words is totally deceptive, however there are some tell-tale signs.

In parts of Asia for instance, many companies vacation companies are totally oblivious and use the prefix eco to describe any outdoor activity regardless of its commitment to sustainability. Other companies will employ feel-good verbiage in the hopes the reader will be swept up in the fantasy and will forget to examine hard facts.

Instead of trusting a companys self-description, look for their public donations to local nature reserves, sustainability awards or nominations, or official affiliations with green initiatives.

2. Call and Ask About Methods

A great way to distinguish the authentic from the phony is to give the company a quick test. Before you book your trip, give them a call and ask what green methods they employ. If an employee is unsure how to answer your questions this is a major red flag. Any company well-versed in sustainability procedures will educate their employees on what steps are taken. To the same point, because ecotourism is such a hot term and because its quite difficult and expensive to achieve sustainability, you can be sure that any truly-green business will be eager to demonstrate it.

3 How Do They Offer Water?

Another great litmus test for determining the authenticity of green-commitments is the way they choose to offer water. While certainly more applicable in more remote destinations, you can get a quick read of a business entitys eco-standards by reviewing their one-use plastics policy. This is particularly problematic where tap water is unsafe, but if one company has invested in on-site green filtration and one hasnt–thats a good indication of priorities.

4. Are They Taking Care of Nature or Taking Care of You?

A good rule of thumb for any serious ecotourist is to consider whether the resort or vacation you are considering is prioritizing you over the environment. This may sound counterintuitive to the typical considerations when seeking out a vacation or trip abroad, but the truth is that ecotourism involves the prioritizing of the environment over convenience–the simple truth is that it will probably be slightly inconvenient if its done right. A good example of this is that many places will employ a sensational song and dance about an onsite wildlife sanctuary, which is really just a rebranding of a animal-unfriendly zoo. In most cases, the proper husbandry of zoo animals will constitute a sanctuary which makes them largely unobservable–another example of nature being prioritized over our own desires.

5. Are You Being Fed an EcoSandwich?

If you find on your trip–despite an outer exterior of numerous and respectable green commitment–that inside there is nothing but eco-damaging practices, then you have likely been fed an ecosandwich. This might look like a nature-friendly wildlife tour taking place on a boat thats leaking oil and gas into a jungle river, or wildlife-sensitive hiking expedition pausing for lunches wrapped in single-use plastics. A good way to identify these situations before they happen is to read reviews written by previous ecotourists.

American Ecotourism and Why Its Important

In Americas 2020 we will see a historic election year playout, which may indeed do the impossible and become one of the most culturally contentious and divisive years yet. Ecotourism offers a unique angle to improving cultural awareness and respect. And yet when exploring the concept of ecotourism the conversation is almost always framed around applying these principles to countries other than our own.

Experts report that Americas wildlife and biodiversity is–quite surprisingly–one of the most threatened biomes on the planet. If the wildlife and state of nature in America is in poor shape, and if the people in this country are more divided than ever, then ecotourism and its principles offer a worthy cause for us all to commit ourselves.

The Evolving Movement

Across America local farms, small-scale bed and breakfasts, and wildlife sanctuaries are tailoring options toward a new kind of tourist–the American city goer, who gets fed up with the big city and wants to experience the freedoms of rural living. A good example of Tennessee ecotourism options is Cove Creek, a red devon cattle farm that specializes in regenerative farming–an eco friendly strategy of minimizing the outside resources needed to support a cattle operation.

Cove Creek is one of many operations across America that is building out options for outings to rustic cabins in the woods–which doubles as an excursion where tourists can get to know farming life in an intimate way. Some farms even allows options for visitors to participate in the daily tasks of farming in one way or another.

Inline with this movement of nature-mindful woodland vacations, many Americans are changing their views on the ideal vacation home. As affordable coastal beach properties, or any waterfront property for that matter, become more and more the stuff of legend, many families are choosing to build green vacation homes in the bountiful forests across the country. Cove Creek facilitates this growing trend by offering consultation on how families can build the ideal rustic and green cabin of their own, providing a long term option for ecotourism which can in turn be rented out to other like-minded ecotourists from around the world. Thus in order for global tourism to really flourish, we may find the best place to start is right here at home in America.

If youre planning a trip to Prague for a few days, even for just a weekend getaway, then youre going to need to do some good planning. With a quality itinerary youll be able to make it to all the must-sees without even feeling like youre just running all over town youll even have time for some relaxation. For this plan to work youre going to need a hotel stay in Pragues city centre to ensure none of your priceless time is wasted on travelling between events. We would recommend staying in Prague at Hotel Rott, located a stones throw away from the Old Town Square, making a stay here a combination of an exceptional price and wonderful location. Day 1 After enjoying an outstanding breakfast at your hotel, start heading toward Prague Castle, which is considered one of the oldest and most expansive castles in the world. You can comfortably arrive to the castles entrance by tram. Here you can choose between two visitors paths. We recommend taking the shorted B path, youll still be able to see all the best stuff. After your tour you might feel like going for a coffee. If youre feeling a little stylish and looking for a relatively cheap place not filled with crowds of other tourists, head over to the small streets named Nov svt (New World) where you will find the New World Coffee House tucked away into a picturesque home with a beautiful terrace. New World is where the paupers and castle staff used to live and their specific style with simple architecture still stands to this day. After your coffee continue on past Loretnsk nmst ( Loretnsk Square) and through Velk strahovsk zahrada (Large Monastery Garden), a distance of about one kilometre, to get to Petn Tower. Scramble up the observation tower from where you can feast your eyes on a wondrous view of Prague, and, should you have children with you, be sure to take them to the famous Mirror Maze. You can enjoy a late lunch at Nebozzek, located on the middle cableway stop while on your way down. From the restaurant youll once again have a beautiful panoramic view of Prague. After exiting from the cableway car, you will find yourself at jezd. Catch a tram to the stop on Malostransk nmst (Small Town Square) and, weather permitting, dont let a visit to Waldstein Garden pass you by. Then the baroque gem St. Nicholas Church will be waiting for you. If youre starting to tire by now, we would recommend an afternoon/evening program consisting of renting some paddle boats on the Vltava river, a visit to one of the many art cinemas or a jazz concert on one of the steamboats from which you can experience Prague as if it was on the palm of your hand. Day 2 On your second day make time for a visit to the Old Jewish Cemetery, one of the oldest and most well-kept Jewish cemeteries in the whole world, a visit to the Old Town Square with its Church of Our Lady before Tn and the Old Town Hall. We would recommend a visit to all of these sights. Then, go for a birds eye view of the city centre without having to huff a bunch of stairs. In the astronomical clock tower visitors can take the glass elevator to the top or go down below for a unique experience in the cellars. Now, take a walk across Charles Bridge, the second oldest bridge in the Republic. If you brave the stairs that can be found on the left-hand side of the bridge, you will find yourself at Kampa Island, where an array of scenic restaurants with views of the river and primarily the museum of modern art, Museum Kampa, which is located in the compound of Sovov Mill Houses, can be found. A visit here is definitely worth your time.
