#Shorts A turtle rescue in Florida had an unexpectedly dramatic ending recently when the reptile "cartwheeled" into a lake.
Brendan Rubenstein's children found the hefty creature in the road near their home in West Palm Beach on May 14.
They carried the turtle to the banks of a nearby lake and gently set it down on the grass, expecting it to plod slowly into the water.
After a few moments of sitting motionless, the eager reptile suddenly made a dash for the lake but somehow lost control and ended up flipping into the water.
"This cartwheeling turtle is ready for the Olympics," joked Rubenstein.
