One of America’s greatest – and first – talk show hosts was Steve Allen. He was the first host of The Tonight Show - which he hosted for 3 years. He was one of America’s most iconic entertainers and was a true Renaissance Man. He sadly died from chest injuries that he sustained from a car accident.
Larry Blyden was another great American actor and game show host who died from injuries as the result of a car accident. He had many recurring roles on popular TV shows and even had a distinguished career in theater.
Of course, how can we not mention James Dean? His short-lived career managed to produce some of the greatest films in American cinema. He died in a car crash in 1955 at the young age of 24. He left behind a short-lived legacy of great films and remains an icon of American cinema.
There was also Norman Burton who sadly died from a car crash a few days before his 80th birthday. He had an acting career that spanned from the late 1950s to the early 1990s. One of his best-known roles was as Felix Leiter in the James Bond film “Diamonds Are Forever.”
These are just a few of the respected actors who died in car crashes. This is indeed one of the most tragic ways to die. But while we mourn their passing, we should also reflect on their incredible lives and careers. We can all take inspiration from them.
